Students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 - Junior High
- are given the opportunity to choose one elective class each semester as
part of their academic curriculum. First priority for open classes will be
given by seniority. These classes are an addition to the students' regular
core classes. Class size is limited to twenty-five (25) students. Each class
is fifty (50) minutes long every Friday and are eighteen (18) weeks long in
duration. This equals one semester or two quarters. Grades are given each
quarter and are part of the honor roll criteria.
Courses and Description
Human Anatomy
Students engage in detailed studies of the human body. Each system of the body, such as the circulatory, digestive, and muscular, will be reviewed. Students will discover and explore each system as well as the functions of each organ and its relation to keeping their own bodies in good physical health with proper diet and exercise.

Debate
A structured introduction into public speaking, students are given the oppotunity to better express themselves by improving their critical thinking and reasoning skills through oral debate. Using basic formal debate guidelines, students will be given current national debate policies and topics to explore, research and discuss.

Money and Banking
An introduction to money management which include the areas of earnings, taxes, budgeting, banking, credit, savings, investing, and insurance. Students also learn the process of opening and closing bank accounts, the issuing of checks, and balancing of a checking account.

World Geography
A visual exploration and understanding of the different regions of the world, including the location of various countries, cities, landmarks, and land formations. Students embark on a journey of discovery of different cultures around the world and the how indigenous people throughout the continents are dependent upon each other.
